An ANCIENT FARMHOUSE with all the COMFORTS of HOME
The farmhouse is the medieval heart of Allt y bela. Ancient oak beams, winding staircases and rooms that feel both deeply old and wholly at ease.
The house sits within a thoughtfully designed 5-acre garden created over 20 years by Arne Maynard and his partner Wiliam Collinson. Allt y bela is their home.
Guests staying in the farmhouse have full access to Arne and William’s five-acre garden throughout their stay. Forever changing with the seasons, there is something to notice at every turn – from sentinel topiary and billowy herbaceous borders close to the house, to wildflower meadows and ancient woodland beyond.
Garden tours with the head gardener can be arranged on request.

A kitchen sits at the centre of it all where breakfast is cooked fresh each morning – you will wake to the smell of baking bread and the sound of birdsong.
Breakfast is served each morning. Home-cooked, unhurried and made as far as possible from local and home-grown ingredients.

History
Allt y bela is a Medieval cruck-framed farmhouse built between 1420 and 1599, with the addition of a Renaissance tower created in the seventeenth century. It was lovingly restored by the Spitalfields Trust before being bought and further repaired and enhance by William Collinson and Arne Maynard in 2006.
